VIN Story is an independent service that retrieves the records a manufacturer holds against your vehicle and delivers them as a clean, readable PDF. No filler, no fluff — just the dealer visits, mileage and work logged.

Enter the VIN
Type or paste the 17-character Vehicle Identification Number from the V5 logbook, the dashboard plate, or the door jamb. We validate the format on the spot and reject anything that doesn't look like a real VIN, so you don't waste a checkout on a typo.

We confirm the vehicle
Before payment we decode the VIN against the manufacturer's identity record so you can see make, model, model year and core specification on screen. If the decode fails, you don't pay — full stop.

Pay securely
Checkout is handled by an established payment provider. Card details never reach our systems and we don't store anything beyond the proof that payment succeeded. Local currency is shown automatically based on approximate location.

We pull the records
We query the manufacturer's service record system for everything they hold against the VIN — dealer visit dates, odometer readings, work logged, and the repairing dealer's name and location. We do not edit, summarise or filter what we find.

You get a clean PDF by email, plus a private link that lets you re-download or check the order status. Most reports arrive within minutes; in the small number of cases that need manual verification we deliver within 12 hours.
