BMW service history check by VIN
BMW's central service record system stores every workshop visit logged by an authorised dealer or service partner against your VIN. A VIN Story report retrieves that record and delivers it as a clean PDF — independent of any dealer or seller.

BMW dealers in the UK and across Europe log scheduled servicing, repairs and recall work into BMW's central system at the time it is performed. The record is keyed to the VIN and follows the car for life — through resales, exports and re-registrations.
Because BMW's service intervals are condition-based rather than fixed, the record is the only place where you can confirm whether a particular vehicle has actually been serviced when its onboard system asked for it. Stamped books and seller claims do not show that.
What to look for in a BMW report
- ✓Whether condition-based service items (oil, brake fluid, microfilter) were addressed when the car asked for them
- ✓Any recall work that has — or has not — been actioned for the specific VIN
- ✓Whether the vehicle has been serviced exclusively at BMW main dealers or at independents
- ✓Mileage at each visit, to spot rollback or unexplained gaps

Frequently asked
Does the BMW service record include work done at independent specialists?
Only if the independent reported the work back to BMW, which is rare. The record is most complete for vehicles serviced at BMW main dealers and approved BMW Service partners. Independent work usually has to be tracked through the seller's own paperwork.
