MINI service history check by VIN
MINI's service records are held in BMW Group's central system and indexed by VIN. A VIN Story report retrieves the record for any MINI as a clean PDF — independent of dealers and sellers.

MINI is part of the BMW Group and shares the same central service record platform as BMW. Authorised MINI dealers and Service partners across Europe log work against the VIN at the time it is performed.
Because MINI uses BMW's condition-based servicing approach on most modern cars, the central record is the only way to confirm whether the right items were addressed at the right time. The dashboard service indicator is not a substitute for the record.
What to look for in a MINI report
- ✓Condition-based service items (oil, brake fluid, microfilter) addressed on schedule
- ✓Timing chain work on early N14 / N18 engines
- ✓Recall work for the VIN, especially on R-series cars
- ✓Any battery or electric drivetrain work on the MINI Electric

Frequently asked
Is a MINI service record returned alongside a BMW one?
No. Although MINI and BMW share the same underlying service record platform, each VIN belongs to one vehicle. A MINI VIN returns MINI records; a BMW VIN returns BMW records. The two are not bundled.
